And here are some ways to make some DIY masks for curly hair. Check them out, below:

1. Papaya Mask

It deeply conditions your curls and restores the natural shine. Papaya is known for reviving dull hairs as well as moisturizes them.


  • ½ ripe papaya
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 beaten egg

Method: To make papaya mask, take the papaya with skin and seeds on and, mix these ingredients in a blender till you get smooth texture. The mask is now ready to be applied. After you put this mask on hair, remember to allow it stay for about 20 minutes. After the allotted time, rinse and indulge in the smoothness of your hair.

2. Coconut Oil Mask

It’s very simple and easy. Whenever you go out in the sun, applying a little coconut oil on your hair may save your hair from the harshness of the sun’s heat. Coconut oil also locks the moisture in your hair.

Simply take 2 tablespoons of coconut oil on your palms and apply it to the ends of your hair. At the end of the day, you can rinse the oil off with shampoo.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse

Did you know the ideal pH for your hair? It’s 5. However, the product available in the market have pH higher than 7. Higher pH causes the removal of protective coating present in the hair cuticles. The reason why hair becomes prone to damage and tangles often. The situation becomes worse with curly hair.

Ingredients to make a hair rinse:

  • 3 cups water
  • ½ cup ACV

To prepare the rinse mix these two items together to make diluted solution. Apple cider vinegar helps restoring the pH balance of your hair. The end result would be smoother, shinier and easily manageable hair.

4. Aloe Vera Rinse

Aloe Vera moisturizes and protects hair! Hair experts suggest that whenever your curls are feeling dry, simply spray aloe vera juice on your hair. This will moisturize your curls, providing them instant freshen up look.

Method: All you need to do is to blend aloe vera gel from one leaf with 1 cup filtered water. Thereafter, store the juice in a clean spray bottle to keep it handy. Now, whenever your hair feel dry, spritz them with aloe vera juice.

  • 2 peeled bananas, pureed
  • 3 tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp. Olive Oil

Method: Pour the banana puree in a bowl, mix mayonnaise and olive oil in it. Again, mix all the ingredients well. The banana mask is ready to be applied on your hair and you can keep it on your hair for about 30 minutes. Now wash your hair with lukewarm water. To eliminate the smell of mayonnaise, you can add a few drops of essential oil of your choice. If the banana mask is still left, you can save it to use it later. Do save it in an airtight container and refrigerate!

6. Yogurt Mask

  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 Vitamin E gel capsules

Method: Simply mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Now, apply the mixture on your hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for 30 minutes before you wash them.
